BASW England’s Maris Stratulis reflects on week 3 of World Social Work Month and pays tribute to social workers across England, the UK and the world – before looking ahead to next week of #WSWmonth led by the Scottish Association of Social Workers.
In this blog, I wish to focus not on the appointment process, or the chair himself - rather, on the hundreds of thousands of care experienced people this review will impact, many of whom will remain forever anonymous and unknown to us.
The Review is being trailed as a ‘once in a generation’ opportunity for change. It has very wide scope in its terms of reference, far reaching stated ambitions and currently a 12-month timeline.
The government needs to work more collaboratively, compassionately and transparently with Black and Ethnic Minority communities in order to recognise broken trust and structural inequalities
BASW England and the Brain Injury Social Workers Group (BISWG) are delighted to jointly launch revised practice guidance for social workers titled ‘Understanding People Affected by Brain Injury’.
