BASW are shocked and saddened by the findings of the Independent Review report into the tragic circumstances that took place at Cawston Park Hospital which distressingly mirror the neglectful and abusive services that people and families experienced at Winterbourne View Hospital, and more recently at Whorlton Hall in Durham
BASW England is consulting with members on the proposals within the Health and Care Bill and the implications for social work. The Health and Care Bill was debated for the first time in Parliament on 14th July 2021 and BASW England has been following developments closely. The proposed changes will impact upon social workers working in and across social care and health.
