The culmination of a two-year study conducted by an international team of academics, Voices of Social Work Through The Troubles, gives a platform to social workers as they recount putting their safety on the line—working behind barricades and amidst bomb-scares—to protect people at risk of abuse and neglect.
Today saw the inaugural meeting of our Social Work Law in Wales - Policy Practice and Education Group. Our primary objectives are; to be a resource to members and the wider social work profession in Wales, to promote and support legal knowledge, competence and confidence in practice and to respond to relevant Governmental Consultation and reviews.

The Chairs of the British Association of Social Workers Northern Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Workers have jointly written to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, and An Tánaiste, Simon Coveney TD, highlighting grave concerns about the potential impacts of Brexit on the social work profession on the island of Ireland.
