BASW Cymru met with social worker and 20 year BASW member Jonathan Pearce this week to find out what it’s like to be a palliative care social worker in Wales.
The Chairs of the British Association of Social Workers Northern Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Workers have jointly written to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, and An Tánaiste, Simon Coveney TD, highlighting grave concerns about the potential impacts of Brexit on the social work profession on the island of Ireland.
Lord Patel of Bradford OBE, Chair of Social Work England was invited by the BASW England National Standing Committee to visit BASW Head Office on the 30th May 2018 to meet with committee members and BASW staff members.
