BASW England is consulting with members on the proposals within the Health and Care Bill and the implications for social work. The Health and Care Bill was debated for the first time in Parliament on 14th July 2021 and BASW England has been following developments closely. The proposed changes will impact upon social workers working in and across social care and health.
Global leaders must recognise and invest in the importance of frontline health and care professionals to both combat the pandemic and build fairer, safer societies post-pandemic.
Last month BASW England surveyed its members on the key questions taken from the government’s public survey, with a focus on those that were of most relevance to social workers
BASW also submitted an accompanying letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, highlighting issues that we feel are fundamental to improving the operation of the MHA, but which BASW felt were not adequately addressed in the consultation itself.
