For social workers to do their work efficiently and compassionately during the coronavirus pandemic they must be safe, we therefore look forward to receiving guidance on PPE, followed by the necessary equipment.
BASW calls upon the government, Social Work England, HEIs, placement providers, Student Finance England to develop a co-ordinated transitional national action plan to support social work students at this time.
BASW opened up a survey for social workers to provide feedback on their experiences of working during the coronavirus pandemic. To date more than 1,200 social workers have provided feedback on their experiences and concerns, as well as best practice. This provides an overview of the findings and the actions BASW is taking.
BASW acknowledges the speed with which Parliamentarians are having to consider the Bill and therefore restricts itself to the most important issues – more information will be provided at a later date.
