Moving from words to action in Anti-Racist mental health practice | BASW England & DHSC Joint Webinar
This exciting session has been planned in collaboration between the Chief Social Workers office, DHSC and BASW England. We will welcome a number of speakers who will explore how racial inequalities shape access to, experiences of and outcomes from services.
The session will hear about the work of the Social Care Workforce Race Equality Standard Independent Advisory Group, in terms of challenging the inequalities experienced within the global majority workforce. We will hear from organisations who have taken steps to address these inequalities and promote the role of true allyship within their workforce and wider networks.
It will also be an opportunity to learn about how some organisations have worked creatively to connect with local communities and how this has made a tangible and long-lasting difference to the mental health of young Black men in Brent.
We will provide an opportunity to ask questions, share your own practice experience and spotlight examples of good practice.
Speakers: The session will be chaired by Robert Lewis Mental Health Social Work Lead at the Office of the Chief Social Worker for Adults – DHSC. We are delighted to welcome guest speakers:
